| PERSONNEL ACHIEVEMENTS
Promotions
In FY26, there are two anticipated promotions following the retirement of Battalion Chief Sudis
(1 lieutenant and 1 battalion chief). The District conducted Battalion Chief testing in FY25 to
account for this, marking a necessary step taken towards proper succession planning.
New Hires
In FY25, the District welcomed four new probationary firefighters, Nathen Smith, Michael
Kindness, Alexis Elies, and Joe Masi. Two of these hires, Michael Kindness and Alexis Elies,
went through the District’s apprenticeship program. This marks a success in the District’s efforts
towards diversifying its hiring practices. Additionally, the District hired a full-time Fire Analyst,
a full-time EMS Administrator, and a part-time Social Media Coordinator as a part of its efforts
to expand its administrative and EMS capabilities. In FY26, there are no anticipated new hires
because the District onboarded one additional firefighter in FY25 to account for anticipated
retirements.
