| PERFORMANCE METRICS
Technical Rescue Team (TRT)
Accountable to: Fire Chief
Performance metrics in this section include District training and operational practices specific to
TRT. The first metric, involving cataloging TRT equipment and assets into CheckIt, will provide
a more robust system for the District’s Technical Rescue Team to ensure all gear is in
compliance with relevant safety standards. In doing so, the District improves organizational
efficiency. Additionally, by ensuring training courses are completed by Q4, the District’s TRT
maintains compliance with MABAS expectations. Meeting MABAS expectations requires a
variety of coursework and training. This is important to our residents, because it relays a high
level of service for both the District’s residents and mutual aid partners. Firefighter/Paramedic
Dendinger is head of the Technical Rescue Team and responsible for these metrics. He is
accountable to the Fire Chief.
Dive Swiftwater
Accountable to: Fire Chief
Performance metrics in this section include District training and operational practices specific to
Dive/Swiftwater. The first metric seeks to expand the District’s roster so it can establish a Dive
team. This represents an expansion of District skills and a wider variety of services that residents
can expect to receive from the District’s Dive/Swiftwater team. The second metric aligns with
the first goal. By ensuring all team members are fully up-to-date with certifications, both the
District’s residents and the Dive/Swiftwater team benefits from improved safety measures.
Firefighter/Paramedic Galloway is head of the Dive/Swiftwater Special Rescue Team and is
responsible for these metrics. He is accountable to the Fire Chief.
Investigations
Accountable to: Fire Chief
Investigations’ goals frequently correspond with goals held by Community Relations, as they
serve the public in a similar manner. The first metric illustrates the percentage of Investigators on
the Juvenile Fire Setter Interventionalist Team that have received specialized Interventionalist
training by the end of Q4. This team promotes a program within the community that works
towards preventing youth fire setting. By ensuring all Investigators on the Interventionalist Team
are trained interventionalists, the Investigations team displays a commitment to fire prevention
and community service. The second metric, involving the completion of fire investigations by
District personnel, displays a commitment to organizational excellence. By conducting all fire
investigations (outside of large scale or high profile incidents*) in-house, the District’s
Investigations team maximizes efficiency of taxpayer dollars and District resources.
Firefighter/Paramedic Ackerman is head of the Fire Investigations Special Team and is
responsible for these metrics. He is accountable to the Fire Chief.
