FIRE OPERATIONS
Engineering—Lt. Carr
The Engineering AOR is tasked with testing and maintaining all of the District’s: ground
ladders, fire pumps, vehicle generators, and fire hoses. This AOR is led and managed by Lt.
Carr, with whom FF/PM Donat and FF/PM Cubberley assist. Each item is tested and
maintained to the standards the manufacturer and the NFPA sets. The NFPA Standards
used are NFPA 110 Standard for Emergency and Power Standby Power Systems, NFPA
1910 Standard for the Inspection Maintenance Refurbishment Testing and Retirement of
In-Service Emergency Vehicles and Marine Firefighting Vessels, NFPA 1932 Standard of
Use Maintenance and Service Testing of In-Service Fire Ground Ladders, and NFPA 1962
Standard for the Care Use Inspection Service Testing and Replacement of Fire Hose
Couplings Nozzles and Fire Hose Appliances. Testing and maintaining this equipment keeps
these items in a state of readiness.
