PERFORMANCE METRICS
MARKETING & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Administration: Performance metrics in this section target strategic goals and objectives regarding community engagement
through social media. In our ever-evolving digital age, the District recognizes the importance of utilizing social media as a tool
for community engagement and communication. These measurements indicate how effective the District has been in
continuously increasing its online reach for platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, in addition to traffic on the District’s
website. Maintaining consistent content on these platforms assists the District in transparency and is a helpful tool in
community risk reduction. Furthermore, social media is important for our residents because it is one of many ways in which
the District can communicate quickly in times of emergency, and disperse public safety information. Social media is attributed
to the administrative department, because it houses the District’s Social Media Coordinator.
Community Relations & Fire Prevention Bureau: While administration works to build the District’s online engagement, the
community relations team seeks in-person opportunities for public safety education and community risk reduction. Some of
these metrics are for informal activities, such as ride-alongs, open houses, block parties, and station tours. However, others are
essential to maintaining the health and safety of our resident base—this is where our Fire Prevention Bureau re-enters the
performance metrics. For example, the community relations team conducts school visits for fire safety talks, but the Fire
Prevention Bureau conducts all public school building inspections and annual evacuation drills. CPR classes also fall under the
umbrella of public relations. By meeting state regulations for school inspections and fire drills, the District is communicating to
its residents that their children’s safety is our priority. Furthermore, increasing interactions with the public in informal
settings such as open houses and station tours allows a safe and stress-free environment for residents to become more
familiar with our staff and absorb public safety information.
