PERFORMANCE METRICS
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Administration: Performance metrics in this section detail employee education reimbursement and training seminars. These
measurements are important because they illustrate how the District prioritizes continued education among employees,
which has positive implications for quality of service delivery and employee retention.
Operations: Performance metrics in this section include District-wide training and operational practices. To improve
operational efficiency and effectiveness, the District focuses on a few priorities. These include, but are not limited to: crosstraining, multidisciplinary training, consistency, and meeting or exceeding benchmarks. Measuring this data informs our
residents about the quality of our training practices, how often we’re meeting our expectations for service, and how we’re
performing comparatively to standardized benchmarks. In short, we’re communicating the level of service our residents can
expect to receive in the event of an emergency.
Operations: Special Teams
Hazmat: Performance metrics in this section include District training and operational practices specific to the District’s
Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) Team. The two objectives noted within the District’s performance metrics are focused on
increasing team-wide certifications. This not only makes members of the team safer and more qualified to perform their
duties, it also ensures that District residents and MABAS partners can expect a high-level of service from our team.
Technical Rescue Team (TRT): Performance metrics in this section include District training and operational practices specific
to TRT. The first metric, involving cataloging TRT equipment and assets into CheckIt, will provide a more robust system for the
District’s Technical Rescue Team to ensure all gear is in compliance with relevant safety standards. In doing so, the District
improves organizational efficiency. Additionally, by ensuring training courses are completed by Q4, the District’s TRT
maintains compliance with MABAS expectations. Meeting expectations of a full 20-person roster requires a variety of
coursework and training. This is important to our residents, because it relays a high level of service for both the District’s
residents and mutual aid partners.
Dive Swift Water: Performance metrics in this section include District training and operational practices specific to Dive Swift
Water. The first metric seeks to diversify team members’ experience with both dive drills and swift water drills. Initially, this
goal was intended to represent the percentage of people who had completed Swift Water drills with MABAS, because there
