LONG-RANGE FINANCIAL PLANNING
Buy Back Fund
The Buy Back Fund is singularly purposed to provide funding for Sick Time Sell Back to
District retirees. However, in 2023, the District changed to a different method of payment.
As a result, the Buy Back Fund will be closed in 2030, at which time it will have made all
final payments to eligible retirees. Because there are no new candidates for the Buy Back
program in its original form, there is no additional revenue being added to this fund.
Consequently, long-term projections are made solely for expenditures, and are budgeted to
decrease at a rate of 50% each year to represent the final years of the program.
