Letter
From
the Chief
“Thank you for taking the time to
read this newsletter. I want to share
an important step our Fire District
is taking to strengthen the service
we provide to you: having just completed our strategic plan, one of its
key goals is to pursue accreditation
through the Commission on Fire
Accreditation International (CFAI).
Accreditation is not just a title. It is
a detailed review of how we respond
to emergencies, manage resources,
train our firefighters, and plan for
the future. It looks closely at the risks
in our community, how quickly we
respond, and how effective we are in
protecting lives and property. Most
importantly, it focuses on continuous
improvement so that we are always
raising our standards.
For you, this means added confidence that your Fire District is meeting the highest benchmarks in the
fire service. It ensures that decisions
are made based on real data, not
guesswork, and that we have clear
plans for keeping Bartlett safe today
and in the years ahead.
We are proud to begin this journey
and will keep you updated along the
way. Thank you for trusting us to
serve you and your
families.”

MONOXIDE DETECTORS
Bartlett Fire District now offers Text-to-911, giving residents another way to get emergency help when a phone call is not possible.
This service is especially important for those who are deaf, hard
of hearing, have a speech disability, are suffering from a medical
emergency that prevents them from speaking, or are in a situation
where making a voice call could put them in danger.
Calling 911 is still the fastest and most reliable way to reach help,
but texting can be lifesaving in the right situation. If you need to
text 911, remember these important steps: start by typing your
exact location, clearly explain what type of help you need — police,
fire, or medical — and keep your message short and free of abbreviations, slang, or emojis. Stay calm and be ready to answer follow-up questions from the dispatcher, who will guide you through
the process until help arrives.
