VIAL OF LIFE FORMS
FREE FROM STATION 1
This summer we relaunched the Vial of Life program, a nationally recognized initiative that gives emergency responders fast access to vital medical information. The updated form comes in a magnetic sleeve
for your refrigerator and includes details such as medical history, medications, allergies, and emergency
contacts.
The program is simple but effective. Firefighters know to look for it during an emergency, and having accurate information in one place allows them to act quickly and safely.
You can download a PDF copy of the form online under the ‘Residents’ tab on our website. Sleeves are
available at no cost at Station 1 during business hours, or we can deliver both items to your home upon
request if you have mobility or transportation challenges.
BED SHAKER INSTALLATION
SCHEDULE A FREE HOME SAFETY VISIT
This year we installed our first SafeAwake bed shaker alarm system, designed to alert individuals with hearing loss or heavy sleepers when a smoke alarm sounds. The device uses a bed shaker, low frequency sound,
and flashing lights to wake a person during a fire emergency. The device is designed to work in
partnership with a properly installed and working smoke alarm.
Through a partnership with the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, eligible Bartlett residents can
receive this life-saving device at no cost as part of our Home Safety Visit program.
To schedule a visit, fill out the form under the ‘Residents’ tab on our website and a crew
member will install the alarm for you.
